The children, men and women of St. Paul’s through word and action, reach out to our neighbors to provide assistance or a safe place. Some of which we do includes supporting community based programs such as:

- Project Echo House (a homeless shelter),
- Safe Nights (an ecumenical winter shelter program),
- Southern Maryland Community Network (collection of school supplies, items, etc),
- Habitat for Humanity (providing support on various building projects in the
         county)
- Episcopal Relief and Development (providing disaster relief) and

In addition, our facilities are made available to community groups for meeting space.  Alcohol Anonymous, Al-Anon, Weight Watchers, Congregation Beit Chaverim and a
bi-polar support group (H.O.P.E) meet at St. Paul’s. By clicking the links to the left of the page you'll be re-directed to the respected community groups' website.

As an Episcopal Church we support the various social outreach projects of the Diocese of Maryland and the National Church especially mission projects to Africa and Central America and Episcopal Relief and Development.

Although many of our social action projects are established responses to local and international needs, the members of St. Paul’s also bring to the parish family their concerns and ideas for responding.

During the winter months St. Paul's hosts the Safe Sunday program as part of Safe Nights.  The hall is open to homeless guests on the third and fourth Sundays.

St. James reminded us to be doers of the Word and Jesus showed us the way. The parish of St. Paul’s follows this road of discipleship living.
