"Because of St. Paul's..."

It's that time of year when the air turns crisp and we are thinking about all things pumpkin spice and the holiday season that is swiftly approaching. While it is easy to feel consumed by the whirlwind of "HallowThanksMas", we ask that each of you carve out time to also think about what St. Paul's means for you; personally,
as a family, as a faith community, and as part of the larger community.
As you reflect, we ask that you focus on all of the good things that happen "Because of St. Paul's". We may be small but St. Paul's does make a difference, every day, in people's lives. Whether it is the parishioner we sit next to in the pew every Sunday or a community member in need who we help but may never meet,
St. Paul's is making a difference, in big ways and in small.
"Because of St. Paul's...38 children have food to eat each weekend
so they can concentrate on learning and growing."
"Because of St. Paul's...I learned how to cut a tomato." (true story)
"Because of St. Paul's...The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts have a place to meet."
"Because of St. Paul's...I have made lifelong friends."

These are just a few of the reasons to keep in mind when pledging your financial support and your time. Please return your pledge card by November 23rd and be sure to write your own "Because of St. Paul's" ideas on your card so we can add it to the list of good things that are happening "Because of St. Paul's."

How You Can Help
There are many ways St. Paul's Episcopal Church is working to support our community. Read below to learn more about our current outreach efforts.

HeartF.E.L.T. (Feeding Empty Little Tummies)

St. Paul's is collecting healthy, individually wrapped snack items
(crackers, sugar-free fruit roll ups, breakfast bars, granola bars,
no sugar added fruit cups, etc.) to assist the students at
Calvert Elementary School with whom we partner in the backpack ministry.
It is hard to learn if a child is hungry so we appreciate your support in helping
those who suffer from food insecurity. Donations should be placed in the
green box in the parish hall. Join us at St. Paul's on Wednesdays
at 12:30 pm to help fills backpacks!

Handbells are the newest ministry at St. Paul’s made possible by a gift from Wanda King. The handbell choir is conducted by Jennifer Dowell and is comprised of 11 members including children and adults. Our set was made in the 1990’s and we recently had to have the clapper mechanisms and handles replaced to enjoy the full beauty of the instrument and to protect them for years to come. The Vestry approved fundraising for the refurbishment and we are happy to report that the needed funds were raised. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this worthwhile cause!
